Why is there another site called Haunted Diary? Is this site fake? Who IS the other Haunted Diary? Are YOU the other Haunted Diary as well? What's the story behind all of this?

Because of these questions, and more, I've decided to create a page about who the original Haunted Diary was, what happened to her story, and to avoid any confusion or error in thinking this website is connected to the site on Angelfire. For those of you who don't know, there was a Haunted Diary site on Angelfire's domain that a woman started about her experiences of moving into a haunted house she just bought. It began with narrations of her impressions of the house beforehand and continued a daily account of her brief 3 months stay. Her writing was very smooth and she offered a message board for the internet folks to post their thoughts on her happenings.

Many trusted and believed in her and offered advice and help in all directions. It was suggested to her what TO do and NOT to do. She never seemed to pay any attention to what the people posted, and many got upset and showed their concern on her message board. It became a struggle for the ones that believed in her. One of the participants of the message board, Reaper, offered to build a chat room on his site so all interested parties could go and discuss the credibility of her story.

Every Sunday, a group of people from the message board would gather in there and talk about whether this woman was real or if she was just spinning yarns. One of the topics of the chatroom included bringing up the fact that the woman said her house was mentioned in "national ghost books". Someone mentioned that in a book called "Haunted America", there was a similar story. One of the coincidences were that both spirits had the name "Alfie."

After corresponding with each other in the chat room as well as through email, my friend Reaper and I decided we would go about attempting to prove if this woman was telling the truth. Through investigating find the truth, we posted our findings on the message board at the Angelfire site as we received them. After a couple of weeks, the original creator of that site admitted to the entire thing being a hoax! We tend to think that because of our findings, she had no choice but to admit to it. The chat room is still a meeting place to gather, the banter still related to paranormal topics, but the old Haunted Diary is a now a thing of the past.

Why did I make this site? There were a couple reasons, aside from my personal experiences, I had liked the atmosphere of the chatroom and message board of the old Haunted Diary, and because not much was happening there anymore, I was hoping I could keep the spirit alive in my own way. I can assure you that my site is NOT in ANY way related to hers, aside from namesake, and that the only thing reported on my site is the truth.
